DECISION REVIEW SYSTEM (DRS)

Hello everyone this is Rithish

In this post , I'm going to discuss about the DRS system. DRS stands for Decision Review System. It is used in now a days cricket if the batsman did not satisfied with the umpire decision. Then he can argue with umpire call or if bowling team can't agree with the umpire call. Then can ask for review. Generally both teams usually have 1 to 2 reviews each.

This process behind a huge technology. This system mainly consists of TV replay system, ball tracking method, infra red imaging also known as hot spot with snicko technology . That records the sound made by bat if it strikes the bat of batsman.

This system was used in test match between New Zealand and Pakistan at first on 24th November 2009.

Components

* TV replay including the slow motion
*Hawk eye or ball tracking system to predict the whether the ball would have struck the stumps
*Snick-o- meter that would measure intensity of the sounds using microphone when the bat strikes the ball.

Infra red cameras are used to analyse whether the ball was made contact with the bat or pad. Through this infrared photography technology . Cricketers are getting finest decisions

Conclusion:
The modern day cricket is changed a lot in recent years. Cricket fans are expecting more fun and entertainment. In olden days, players and fans were hurt by umpires decision. But after DRS entire decision making system is entirely changed. So it made the game more honest.
